Concerns over the children under five years with low nutrition

In the ranking of the countries in the South Asian regions which are affected in terms of underweight children who are under five years of age, Sri Lanka has become the second in rank.

 

The Chairman of the Medical and Civil Rights Professional Association (MCPA) Dr. Chamal Sanjeewa, revealed this data, according to a report issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) in 2022.

 

Due to several factors, the programs that have been implemented to improve the nutritional status of school children have been disrupted in such a situation, he further added.
