Expressway Sub-Inspector fatally shot in apparent suicide

A Sub-Inspector attached to expressway duties died from a gunshot injury to the head, reportedly from his duty firearm at the Peliyagoda Interchange on the Katunayake Expressway. 

 

Police said the incident is being investigated into as a possible suicide.

 

The shooting had reportedly taken place when the SI had come to the Peliyagoda Interchange Center after completing his duties.

 

They said the deceased is 54 year-old Ruwan Kumara.
