Wanted Criminal shot dead in police confrontation

The main suspect of the shooting incident at a hotel in Soysapura, Moratuwa, has been shot dead in a shootout with the Police early this morning in Minuwangoda.

 

The 50 year old  Pathiranage Raja Wimaladharma alias ' Gonakovile Raja', was an underworld figure and a suspect wanted over muliple crimes. 

 

Police said that  the suspect had opened fire at the police when they attempted to arrest him based on a tip-off received that a suspect had been hiding in the area.
