Two killed, two injured in lightning strike

Two fishermen were killed and two others injured as lightning strike their vessel in seas off Saindamaradu on Saturday, police said today. According to police the victims who had gone out to sea earlier in the day had been caught up in inclement weather.

 

The two injured fishermen are undergoing medical treatment at the Ashraf Hospital in Kalmunai. The authorities have repeatedly cautioned the public and sea users in particular against lightning activity that accompany thundershowers.
