Trade Minister official residence hands over to government

The official residence of the Minister of Trade, former Minister of Trade Rishad Bathiudeen, located at Mackenzie Road, Colombo 7, has been handed over to the Ministry of Public Administration by the present Minister of Trade, Bandula Gunawardena.

The Ministry of Commerce states that Mr. Bandula Gunawardena took this decision due to the suspicion that underage girls were abused during the use of this official residence by Minister Bathiudeen.

The Ministry of Public Administration had taken steps to hand over the house to the present Minister of Trade from December 2020.
