The pilot who sat on the wrong side

The Sri Lankan Airlines have received a stern warning   from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

 

The CAA’s Director General Captain Themiya Abeywickrama has used strong words in addressing the issue with Sri Lankan Airlines.

 

The CAA has informed Sri Lankan Air Lines that it has:  “lost all confidence in the Post holders of the Flight Operations Management of the Airline.”

 

The incident that gave cause to the stern warning is the behavior a flight instructor .  

 

A instructor pilot had taken the right hand seat of an A330 aircraft without stipulated qualifications.

 

Themiya Abeywickrama and team found out that the instructor pilot had taken the right hand seat without the stipulated qualifications to do so.

 

The incident had taken n place on a A330 aircraft on the 15th, 18th, and 29th December last year.

 

Sri Lankan Air Lines have been instructed to take a number of measures to correct the situation.
