The government is preparing to test the soil before giving organic manure

Dr. Ajantha de Silva, Director General of the Department of Agriculture said that the soil testing work to provide fertilizer for the Maha season will commence from next week in the Ampara District.

He further said that agricultural research officers are being trained to educate the farming community on the use of organic fertilizers.

The Director General of Agriculture said that steps will be taken to issue a card to the farmers who own the lands under inspection to obtain fertilizer.
