Seven rounded up from Rajagiriya 'quarantine' party

Seven persons including two females were rounded after they were found to be holding a ‘quarantine’ party at a plush residence in Rajagiriya today, police said. A stock of alcohol and narcotics that had been used at the party was also seized. According to police, the group had started the party the previous night and it had continued until this morning.

 

The house was raided on information provided to police by immediate neighbors. Parties and other similar gatherings are currently outlawed under the prevailing quarantine Covid-19 health regulations. The group was to be produced before a local Magistrate sometime later today, police said.
