Russia isolated as UN adopts resolution demanding to end Ukraine war

 

The United Nations on Thursday overwhelmingly singled out Russia, calling for a "comprehensive, just and lasting peace" to mark one year since Moscow invaded Ukraine and calling on Moscow to withdraw its troops and stop fighting.

Beijing abstained from the vote, a day after China's top diplomat visited Moscow and pledged a deeper partnership with Russia.

This is the fourth such action since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24 last year.
