Postal employees on sick leave trade union action from tonight

The postal employees have reached a decision to sort to a ‘sick leave’ action from tonight (March 30). 

 

According to Chief of Sri Lanka Post and Telecommunication Services Union Mr. Chinthaka Bandara stated that the said strike is held in relation to a number of demands including the protest against the process carried out to recruit   new employees to the postal service.

 

The workers will hold the action for 24 hours from tonight.

 

Nonethless, steps have been taken by the Department of Posts to cancel the leave of all postal workers immediately.
