Police to tow away the illegally parked vehicles

Sri Lanka Police will launch a special operation from July 17, to locate and tow away the vehicles that are illegally parked and are parked on the pavements.

 

DIG Ajith Rohana stated that legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules as per the Motor Traffic Act of Sri Lanka and the National Thoroughfares Act.

 

He also said that the vehicles found parked on pavements or unauthorized places  need to be towed  and the vehicle owner will have to bear the respective towing cost.
