Ownerless face book account a threat to national security

Media Minister Dr Keheliya Rambukwella has said that more than a quarter of Facebook accounts registered from Sri Lanka are ownerless. He said that legal action will be taken to suspend about 2 million Facebook accounts amounting to 27 per cent of the total Facebook accounts in the country
Minister Rambukwella said that it would be an offence to maintain fake accounts in the near future as new legislation on the way. Minister Rambukwella and the Minister of Justice Ali Sabry have submitted a Cabinet Memorandum to formulate a plan based on the existing laws to take necessary action through the existing institutions in the state structure to regulate and control such accounts.
