Ombudsman appointed at Presidential Secretariat to address public grievances

Retired Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police S.M. Wickramasinghe has been appointed as an ombudsman to act upon complaints and public grievances and provide speedy solutions.
According to the President's Office, the complaints can include large scale narcotics rackets, environmental destruction or unlawful acts.
The public has the opportunity to submit their complaints in person by visiting the Ombudsman’s Office located on the 3rd floor of the old Standard Chartered Bank building along Janadhipathi Mawatha in Colombo 01.
The public can also reach the Ombudsman's Office by post addressed to “The Ombudsman’s Office, Presidential Secretariat, Colombo 01”, through the telephone/ fax on 011-2338073 or via email to [email protected].
