Number of beds and ICU centres for COVID19 patients

The Health Ministry has decided to increase the number of beds in the Intensive Care Units of treatment centres & provide Covid patients with the necessary high floor Oxygen amidst reports that there could be an increase in the COVID-19 cases. The decision was among several other decisions taken by the Health Ministry to meet the situation.

 

A decision also has been taken to Increase the number of PCR tests conducted per day to at least 15,000 after latest reports indicated that the PCR tests had dropped to less than 5,000.

 

Tot strictly enforce the Quarantine Regulations and initiate stringent action against those who violate the laws and to Designate Area and District-wise hospitals for Covid treatment and provide necessary medical equipment to the designated hospitals were among other decisions taken.

 

To increase the number of Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers, to create a system to admit Covid patients to different hospitals based on the level of infection, to formulate a special Quarantine Law for people returning from overseas and to ensure parallel treatment of Covid patients and normal patients in hospitals were the other decisions taken.
