NPP/JVP and SJB running neck-and-neck amongst voters, but no party dominates – survey

The National People's Party (NPP)/Janata Vimukti Peramuna (JVP) and the main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) are running neck-and-neck among the electorate at 32% and 31% respectively in terms of voting intention in the general election.

The latest survey results are shown. This was revealed in the latest Sri Lanka Opinion Survey (SLOTS) poll conducted from January 2023 by the Institute for Health Policy (IHP).

IHP is an independent, non-partisan research center based in Colombo. The SLOTS principal investigator is Dr. Ravi Rannan-Eliya of IHP, who trained in public opinion polling at Harvard University and has conducted many surveys over three decades.

Both NPP/JVP and SJB are ahead of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), United National Party (UNP) and Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the report said, however, the difference between them lies in the margins.
