Hirunika sends a five-page letter to the President regarding Duminda's release

Hirunika Premachandra, a former Parliamentarian, has submitted a five-page letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in response to the Presidential pardon granted to murder convict and former MP Duminda Silva.

Duminda was released from prison Wednesday after being on death row since 2016 for the murder of Hurinuka's father, former Parliamentarian Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra.

Hirunika questioned the President's decision to issue the presidential pardon to Duminda Silva despite the judgment of seven judges from both the High Court and the Supreme Court.
