Haiti earthquake kills more than 300

The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, at a depth of 10 km.

 The quake, which measured 7.2 on the Richter scale, killed at least 300 people.

The quake destroyed several churches and buildings in the country, and tsunami alerts were issued for Haiti and several neighboring countries.

The quake killed at least 300 people and injured more than 1,800.
