Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Uva Province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night, the Met Department said.

Showers are also expected in the Galle, Matara districts and in several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.

The Meteorological Department warns that strong winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph are possible in the Hambantota District.
