Focus on weather today

Showers or thundershowers at times in the Galle, Matara, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy districts and in some places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Uva and Eastern Provinces during the evening or night and several spells of showers will occur in the North Western Province as well.

Winds will be 40-50 kmph in Hambantota, Trincomalee and North and North Central Provinces.

The general public is urged to take necessary measures to minimize the damage caused by lightning and wind.
