Drug dealer 'Ketawalapitiye Sampath' shot dead in police confrontation

A drug dealer named ‘Ketawalapitiye Sampath’ has been shot dead in a shootout with the Police, at Gampaha, the Police Spokesman SSP Jaliya Senaratne said.

 

The suspect had opened fire at the police officers who were giving chase to the speeding vehicle, as the driver disregarded their orders at a checkpoint in Miriwatte. 

 

Reportedly, he was killed when the police officers opened fire in retaliation.
