Despite the lifting of the curfew, virus transmission still exists : SLMA

The Sri Lanka Medical Association said that 20% of the population over the age of 20 had not been vaccinated and that there was still a high risk of transmitting the covid virus.

Padma Gunaratne, Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Medical Association, emphasized the importance of strict adherence to health laws and guidelines to prevent another wave of curfew.

Ms. Gunaratne said the SLMA was of the view that the inter-provincial travel ban should be further implemented and large gatherings should be restricted for a limited period of time.
