Couple killed in fire in two storey house

The Police Media Spokesman's Office stated that a couple was killed in a fire that broke out in the upper floor of a two storey house in the Aldeniya area in Kadawatha yesterday morning.

The dead were aged 53 and 57 and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

The Mahara Magistrate is scheduled to conduct a magisterial inquiry while a team of Kelaniya CID officers and Kadawatha Police are conducting investigations.
