Cardinal on a slippery road

Archbishop of Colombo Cardinal Malclom Ranjith commemorated the innocent who sacrificed their lives at the hands of terrorist. However he has fallen short of getting what he wanted.

 

He wanted charges filed against those who are responsible and wowed to take decisive action.
He expressed his disappointment but did not say anything about time lines or escalating the agitation.

 

The prime minster Mahinda Rajapaksha  said that the perpetrators will be punished but did not mention any time lines.
The Justice Minister said that it is the responsibility of the attorney general to take action.
Meanwhile the cardinal is under pressure from the victim’s families who are demanding justice.

 

There are others who are complaining that the Cardinals strong words are not producing results.
