Cabinet approves legislation on cyber security

The Security Cyber Command Act proposes that with the advancement of electronic communication, terrorist groups and criminals tend to use cyberspace and electronic communications for terrorist activities, organized crime and anti-social activities.
Therefore, it is imperative today that new legislation be enacted to cover all sectors to ensure national security, including the necessary provisions for the operations to be carried out by the Cyber Security Units already established at the institutional level by the Armed Forces and the Police.
Accordingly, after discussions with the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Technology and other relevant parties, it has been decided that it is appropriate to prepare a relevant draft including cyber security provisions regarding the security sector.
