Be careful when posting on social media

Social media posts on environmental destruction s to be monitored vigorously in real-time with the requirement of 300 environmental officers. There have been a number of false and accurate information posted on social media on environmental destruction and mostly these posts have been made by young social media activists.

 

Environment Minister Mahinda  Amaraweera said to the media that posting false information would face legal action while accurate information will be acted upon positively.

 

President Gothabaya Rajapaksha said recently that Environmentalism should not be taken for a fashion. Environmentalists are making claims that environmental distraction is taking place in a number of forest reserves.
