Astra Zeneca shortage far from been resolved

The government is yet to find a solution to resolve the shortage of Astra Zeneca jabs for the second round of vaccinations. The government is trying hard to purchase the remaining 600,000 doses but without any breakthrough. Manufacturers in the UK and South Korea have been contacted. The solution of mixing vaccination has not yet been validated by the World Health Organization.
Gampaha becomes a hot spot
Gampaha district has been identified as a potential hot spot. COVID infected cases in the area are to rise within the next two weeks, the Government Medical officers' Association (GMOA) said.
GMOA Secretary Dr. Shenal Fernando said 80% of the persons who visited the Physiotherapy Division of the Negombo hospital last Friday (14) were tested COVID positive proven by PCR tests.
