Army gives artificial limbs to former tiger fighters

The Sri Lanka Army has taken a step towards reconciliation by providing former LTTE carders with artificial limbs. Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said that  64  former LTTE fighters will be donated with artificial limbs.

 

Among the beneficiaries is a woman LTTE member as well. Many have lost the lower part of the leg below the knee, while others have lost the entire leg due to clashes at war.
