An explanation from a CMC member about Rosie's expenses

Commenting on reports that the Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council Rosy Senanayake has spent a large amount of money on soft drinks, the UNP Municipal Councilor has stated that the money has not been spent on public events for her personal use.

 

The money has been allocated for the mayor in accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Council Act, said Colombo Municipal Councilor Mohan de Silva.

 

He said the CMC had bought cheese and biscuits to cater to the festive season.
