Ajith Nivard Cabraal assumes duties as the Governor of the Central Bank from today

Ajith Nivard Cabraal, who was appointed as the Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka by President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on the 13th, is due to assume duties today.

Ajith Nivard Cabraal has been the Governor of the Central Bank for the past 9 years.

He is a Chartered Accountant and has resigned from the post of Minister of State and Member of Parliament prior to his appointment.
