AG seeks Trial at Bar to try Central Bank Bond Scam suspects

Attorney General Dappula de Livera requested the Chief Justice to appoint a trial-at-bar to try the 11 suspects namely the former Minister Ravi Karunanayake, former CBSL governor Arjuna Mahendran, Perpetual Treasuries Limited owner Arjun Aloysius and 8 others over the Bond Scam involving Treasury Bond Auction, stated the Coordinating Officer of Attorney General, State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, a short while ago.
She also added that the Trial – at- Bar has been requested to be appointed to try the suspects over the Bond Scam involving the Treasury Bond Auction of 29th March 2016.
Furthermore, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) announced that that investigations into the Rs. 51.98 billion financial irregularities in the 2nd Central Bank bond issue against 11 suspects named in the case have been concluded.
