AG diclines diplomatic posting

Sri Lanka’s Attorney General Dappula De Livera who is to retire soon has turned down an appointment as High Commissioner to Canada. The previous nomination for canada has been rejected and now the government is in search of a new appointee. De Livera is a controversial attorney general who has made many landmark rulings.

 

De Livera has thanked the President and said that he wishes to remain in Sri Lanka to serve the public.
