A Buddhist monk in Maligawatte sentenced to life imprisonment

 

Ven. Uwatenne Sumana Thero was sentenced to life imprisonment by Colombo High Court for the possession of weapons and bombs in a temple in 2010.

 

The weapons and the explosives were recovered during a special search operation conducted at the Maligawatta Sri Bodhirajarama Temple on the eve of  2010 presidential election.
