A 6 days old baby has died of a covid infection

A 6 days old baby born to a mother in the Bombuwa area in Balangoda on the 5th has died due to covid infection.

The baby was admitted to the premature infant unit for treatment due to a respiratory ailment.

The baby died yesterday while receiving treatment and a subsequent PCR test confirmed that covid was infected.
