Sunil Handunnetti says that nano nitrogen was imported from India against the approval of the Cabinet

The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) has stated that it has imported nano nitrogen fertilizer from India against a cabinet paper submitted by the Minister of Agriculture.

 

Former JVP MP Sunil Handunnetti said that the minister in charge of the subject had obtained cabinet approval to import the fertilizer through the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company.

 

However, he said the fertilizer was imported through a private company which is said to be a representative of the Indian Fertilizer Company, contrary to cabinet approval.
