Minister of Education urges the relevant parties to commence A/L paper marking

University lecturers will reach a decision with regard to participating in the paper-marking process of the 2022 G.C.E Advanced Level examination stated Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha.

 

Further, he said that following their requests, the stipends for university professors for paper-marking were increased by more than 90%. “For example, someone who got Rs. 50,000 now earns Rs. 105,000,” the Minister explained. The total funds released for allowances of teachers and university lecturers for the paper-marking process has been increased to over Rs. 400 million.

 

The teachers and their relevant trade unions have reached a favourable decision by now. Therefore, he urged the university lecturers to commence the paper-marking process as soon as possible.
