Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja has ventured into politics by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), following the footsteps of his wife, Rivaba Jadeja, who is already an active BJP member.
Rivaba Jadeja, who represents the BJP as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Jamnagar, shared the news on X (formerly Twitter). She posted photos of the couple proudly displaying their new BJP membership cards.
The BJP’s membership drive, known as 'Sadasyata Abhiyan,' which started on September 2, was marked by the renewal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s membership. Rivaba joined the BJP in 2019 and won the Jamnagar assembly seat in 2022 by a significant margin.
Ravindra Jadeja, known for his all-rounder skills in cricket, recently retired from T20 internationals after India’s historic T20 World Cup victory against South Africa in June. He announced his retirement on Instagram, expressing his gratitude and pride in his T20 career. Jadeja has played 74 T20I matches, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets.
The cricketer is now set to explore his new role in politics, following his wife's successful entry into the political arena. (cricketpakistan)
