Panadura Lyceum crowned TISSL under-15 Cricket Champions

Panadura Lyceum International School clinched the TISSL Under-15 Limited Overs Cricket Championship 2025 with a dominant 8-wicket victory over Wattala Lyceum International School in the final, recently at Keion Grounds, Panadura.

 

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Wattala Lyceum posted 116 runs in 24 overs, losing all 10 wickets. Shashindu Vismitha top-scored with 41 runs, but the innings was dismantled by Sithumina Heendeniya, who delivered a stunning bowling performance, taking 5 wickets for just 13 runs in 5 overs.

 

In response, Panadura Lyceum chased down the target with ease, reaching 121/2 to claim the championship. Nesith Perera played a match-winning knock, scoring an unbeaten 54 runs, while captain Maneesha Madapatha contributed an unbeaten 29 runs.

 

For his outstanding performance throughout the tournament, where he amassed 204 runs in 5 matches, including a half-century in the final, Nesith Perera was named Player of the Tournament. Meanwhile, Sithumina Heendeniya, whose five-wicket haul turned the final in Panadura Lyceum’s favor, was awarded the Player of the Final.
