One shot dead, three arrested as 5 inmates attempt to escape the Bogambara prison

Five prison inmates who were placed under quarantine at the Old Bogambara Prison have tried to escape on November 17, Commissioner-General of Prison Thushara Upuldeniya stated. 

 

As per the sources, one inmate was shot dead as the security officials at the Prison opened fire at the inmates who tried to escape.

 

Three inmates have been arrested while one inmate has managed to escape. 

 

A search operation is underway to locate the prisoner who escaped.
