Meat outlets, liquor shops to remain closed for Vesak

All meat selling outlets, including supermarket meat counters, slaughterhouses, betting centres, casinos, nightclubs, and liquor outlets, will be closed on May 12, 13, and 14 in observance of Vesak, the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs announced.

 

The decision comes as part of the National Vesak Week, declared from May 10 to 16, following a Cabinet decision.
