BIA welcomes first charter flight with 252 international tourists

The Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) welcomed the first charter flight of a series of charter flight operations of the Lot Polish Airlines today operating from the Czech Republic, with 252 international tourists arriving in Sri Lanka, the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited said.
These charter flights which will be operated till March 26, 2024, are organized in collaboration with Cedok of the Czech Republic, Sri Lanka Tourism, and Jetwing Travels. Hayleys Aviation is the General Sales Agent (GSA) in Sri Lanka for Lot Polish Airlines.
The first flight was welcomed with a water salute, while the passengers were entertained to a traditional welcome dance performance and gifts of Ceylon Tea packs to each tourist.
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will commence a joint promotional campaign with Cedok, parallel to the charter flight arrivals from the Czech Republic, with the support of the Airport and Aviation Services Sri Lanka Limited, Jetwing Travels, and Hayleys Aviation, in order to enhance destination awareness among Eastern European markets.
