Police arrests cop for obstructing duties

Maharagama police arrested a police sergeant for unruly behaviour and obstructing other officers from performing their duties in the Pannipitiya area. 

 

The incident involved a sergeant from the Hiniduma Police.

 

The arrest followed a call from the 119 Police Emergency Call Center about a person in Pannipitiya who was allegedly drunk and was causing a disturbance.

 

A night patrol team from the Maharagama Police Station responded and detained the suspect.

 

Upon further investigations at the station, it was revealed that the suspect is a police sergeant attached to the Hiniduma Police.
