Devotees’ unclaimed luggage to be handed over in Kandy

The Civil Security Department is set to launch a programme to hand over uncollected luggage left behind by devotees who attended the exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, the Central Province Chief Secretary’s Office said.

 

The Chief Secretary’s Office said that luggage belonging to devotees was securely stored and returned under the full supervision of the Civil Security Department following the pilgrimage. However, some items remain unclaimed.

 

As a result, a special programme has been organised to return the uncollected luggage yesterday (28) and today (29) in front of the Joy Boat Service at Kandy Lake.

 

The Civil Security Department has requested that owners visit the location with valid identification to claim their belongings.

 

Additionally, the department has released three mobile numbers for further inquiries: 071-580 3000, 077-531 1797 and 071-096 5890.
