Ten more suspected criminals of underworld gangs nabbed

Ten more suspected criminals of underworld gangs were arrested yesterday during the special operation launched to crack down on organized criminal activities.

 

The suspects were arrested in Ratmalana, Mattakkuliya, Wattala, Colombo 12, Kolonnawa, Ganemulla and Uragasmanhandiya.

 

They are suspected to be close associates of underworld gangs of 'Kudu Anju', Dematagoda Chaminda, Kanjipani Imran, Keselwatte Dinuka, Ladiya and Kosgoda Suji.

 

In response to a concerning increase in organized criminal activities in the Western and Southern Provinces, a special operation targeting 20 identified organized criminal gangs in the country was launched under the 'Yukthiya' initiative last Tuesday (19).
