Cabinet has violated sports law - Sajith

The cabinet decision to ask the Sports Minister to seek Cabinet approval for appointing an interim committee to administer cricket is a violation of the sports laws, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa told Parliament today.

 

"It is the Sports Minister who has the power to appoint interim committees or competent authorities to administer cricket. How can the Cabinet interfere with Sports Ministry matters?" the Opposition Leader questioned.
