SL bags major public health achievement awards from WHO

Sri Lanka has been recognized for its strides in public health, receiving two awards from the World Health Organization (WHO) South-East Asia Region.

The awards acknowledge the nation's success in controlling Hepatitis B among children and its remarkable progress in reducing under-5 mortality, neonatal mortality and still-birth rates.

The WHO took to social media to congratulate Sri Lanka, tweeting, "Congratulations #SriLanka for receiving two public health achievement awards for Hepatitis B control in children and achieving SDG and global targets for reduction of under-5 mortality, neonatal mortality and still-birth rates."
