New Anti-Terrorism Bill has no fundamental change

Justice Minister, Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe claimed against the new Anti-Terrorism Bill, that the government would not take any fundamental changes to the current version.
The bill which has been noticed in the gazette is supposed to be presented for Parliament debate and enactment. The bill is to be legalized and enacted by repealing the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
Following the war, sections of the international community, including the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) forced the government to replace the PTA with a new law that complies with the international standards of anti-terrorism.
A few parties such as the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) have opposed the provisions of the new bill.
However, Mr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said that the bill was outlined by studying the anti-terrorism laws in countries such as the United States, India, the United Kingdom and Germany.
According to Minister Rajapakshe, the law in those countries is rather meticulous than Sri Lankan Bill.
