French Navy ship arrives in Colombo

Port of Colombo yesterday on a goodwill visit, where it was welcomed with traditional naval honours by the Sri Lanka Navy.
Measuring 80.65 meters in length, the vessel is under the command of Commander Dimitri Bertheau and is crewed by 58 personnel. 'Beautmps Beaupre' serves a vital role in hydrographic surveying and oceanographic research for the French Navy, the SL Navy said.
During the ship’s stay, Commander Bertheau and several crew members are expected to meet with senior officers of the Sri Lanka National Hydrographic Office (SLNHO) to engage in discussions on key bilateral hydrographic matters.
In addition to official engagements, the ship’s crew will have the opportunity to visit notable tourist destinations across Sri Lanka. 'Beautmps Beaupre' is scheduled to depart Colombo on 13 May.
