Couple and infant injured in shooting at Ahungalla

A couple and a four months old baby were injured and admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital after an unidentified man opened fire at them at Galvehera in Ahungalla.

 

Police said the victims were riding on a motorcycle when the incident occurred.

 

They said the injured man is 32 years old while the woman is 27 years old and are are residents of Galvehera, Ahungalla.

 

Investigations revealed that the couple was on their way home from their business place when they were shot at by a person hiding in a field in the Galvehera area.

 

Preliminary investigations revealed that a T56 type firearm was used for the shooting. 

 

The injured man and the child have been admitted to Karapitiya Hospital for further treatment. 

 

Ahungalla police are conducting further investigations.
