Indonesian female nabbed with Cocaine worth Rs.230mn

An Indonesian female was arrested with 4.598 kilograms of cocaine worth more than Rs. 230 million while attempting to smuggle it into the country, Customs media spokesman and director Sivali Arukgoda said.

 

The 42-year-old woman arrived in Sri Lanka from the Addis Ababa Airport in Ethiopia via Doha, Qatar.

 

Cocaine was found packed inside children's storybooks.

 

The woman and the stock of cocaine were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) for further investigations.
