Cabinet nod to lease 87-acre land to CTC for forest farming

The Cabinet of Ministers has green lighted to lease an 87-acre land plot under the jurisdiction of Lands Reforms Commission to Ceylon Tobacco Company PLC (CTC) for a forest farming project.

 

The lease is sanctioned for a long-term period of 30 years.

 

The land, located in Maduwanwala Nindagama Watte is situated in the Panamura Grama Niladhari division within the Embilipitiya Divisional Secretariat division in the Ratnapura district.

 

The Cabinet office said the approval was granted after a thorough evaluation of the project report submitted by the company.
